So you operate a blog do you? Perhaps this is something that is for personal use on one of the more popular social networks, or maybe it is a small business blog and you use it to educate your clientele and reach out to customers, vendors or even your own team members and employees. Well, have you ever considered the value of your words? How about the value of your blog?

Surely you have to admit that your blog does have some value, unless of course you are of such low-self-esteem that you think your words are meaningless, of course if you thought that in reality, you most likely would not be posting at all. So, then you do agree that your blog is worth something more than free. In other words it has value. Value to you is sentimental in nature and intrinsic, but it also has value to your readership, friends and folks who happen by. Why? Well, if it didn't no one would bother to read it now would they.

If you have a business blog and you spend time posting or pay a trusted employee too, that time is the same as energy and it has a cost, a cost in time. If you receive business from your blog, then it has real commercial value and if you divide the time spent and cost by the revenue generated and compare that against other forms of advertising and marketing, then you begin to see just how valuable it really is.

Obviously, your business blog is extending your business credibility (if done right, if done wrong it could actually hurt your business) and brand. If your brand name has value, which all CFOs and accountants agree, then your blog is an asset of your company and thus, it too has value.
